We are proud to announce that effective 7/1, in collaboration with the Health Promotion Center at Glens Falls Hospital, our program sites and residential properties will be going 100% tobacco free! This change will take place over several months, starting at our Administrative offices and Caleo Counseling. Read more about it below!
‘Fix It’ is a campaign of the Living Tobacco-Free initiative at Glens Falls Hospital. This campaign aims to encourage our community members to work together to fix the major health and economic implications of tobacco-use through education, mobilization and policy change. We collaborate with health care providers, local leaders, employers, landlords, youth and local organizations to help create tobacco-related policies that result in more smoke-free environments, a reduction in exposure to tobacco marketing, and healthier communities.
Funding for ‘Fix It’ comes the Bureau of Tobacco Control, within the New York State Department of Health (DOH). The bureau funds various tobacco prevention and cessation programs throughout New York State, including the New York State Smokers’ Quitline.
